Get started by applying the joint compound on the laminated plywood by using paint scraper. Make sure you spread that the joint compound evenly on the entire surface. Pay attention to different surface conditions of the plywood to be able to make it even. Let stand for 24 hours first, before we go to the next step though.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t Forget to Spray the Based Layer with Oil-Based!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Spray the base layer of oil-based spray paint in a darker tone. However, you don’t need to cover the surface of the plywood evenly. Just make sure it covers most of the surface.<\/p>\n

The chalky finish paint comes next for this DIY food photo backdrop. <\/a>Brush the chalky finish paint evenly and thoroughly all over the surface of the plywood. It is recommended that you use circular motions when painting so that it gives a better appeal. Remove excess paint on the surface using a damp cloth whenever you need to.<\/p>\n

If you have finished the based, the next step is just to use another color spray paint. It will accentuate the tone of the backdrop itself. But here, you can also skip this step. Just consider with personal preferences and the actual need of the backdrop itself before doing this step.<\/p>\n

A trick to create a unique effect is to splash a bit of water on the board and immediately spray the metallic spray paint. Wait for a bit then wipe the water on the board and voila, the backdrop has a unique water effect.<\/p>\n
